Great week

We have been working on different types of writing, and doing lots of assessments. Reading, writing, and next week common core discovery education grade level tests. As a teacher I am trying to get to know all my new students and reconnect with the 2nd and 3rd years. We are also working on procedures, i.e. how to walk in the hallway, how to come in from recess, how to celebrate a birthday, how to raise you hand, how to wait until someone else is done sharing.... these are important to get done early in the year.

Montessori works for all students have been revolving around some of these topics. Place value, zoology, picking out appropriate level books, writing small moments, read aloud with comprehension, the 5 senses, and lots, lots more.
