Making Connections
October 30,
This week we are reading a story from our reading books that fits right in with the Native American chapter in our Social Studies books. Students have been learning about the different tribes that once inhabited Northern America.
We have been studying artifacts from the many cultural regions. The Science unit called Matter Matters is being wrapped up by Mrs. Thompson. In Mathematics we are reviewing our knowledge of fractions and learning new ways to use fractions.
Vocabulary is another area where we spend time introducing words that enhance students understanding of what we are reading, studying and applying.
Some of these words are
interpret
geography
common good
pursuit of happiness
popular sovereignty
factors
enforce
consequences
choice
rights
responsibility
conclusion
observation
hypothesis
characteristics
data.... and many more
Happy Halloween
