Great Week
This was a fun week! 1st graders are started to get into the routine of the classroom, and I'm very proud of how well they are doing. On the work plan, students are required to complete a Math and a Language before moving on to other choices. i.e. zoology, botany, geometry and so forth. This seems to help balance the freedom to choose vs. academic requirements. As my 2nd and 3rd graders begin to master some of the basic math and reading skills, I'm challenging them to try out new work. I even have a couple of students testing out computer programming on Khan Academy. That's pretty cool!
