The coin challenge

This is a message the Susan Deforest sent to the teachers but it explains everything so
I'm forwarding it to you all--

Hi Waukazoo!

Coin Challenge is next week! Fire up those kids!!!

We will be raising money to buy and donate some PETS... hand cranked wheel chairs made entirely by volunteers on 6th St. downtown and shipped to children without the use of their legs in areas where a traditional wheel chair would not work. $250 buys materials and pays to ship the PET to the child. Let's see how many we can donate!

Your student council reps will be telling your class about it tomorrow.

We have 3 PETS on loan until next Thursday. 1 is in the front foyer for all to see. 2 are in the North entryway near the gym. As long as you supervise, your class is invited to each have a turn and try one out. If you are taking your class, you may bring the one from the foyer down as well, if you would like to have 3 for the kids to try. The gym is open until 10 each day so from 9 - 10 you could use them in the gym. After that Tim will be teaching so your kids could try them in the gym foyer. Kids can't ride them without adult supervision.

PETS will be picked up next Thursday mid morning, so if your class wants to try it, do it Friday, Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday.

If you want your kids to learn a little more about it the website is www.petmiholland.org There are a few slideshows depicting how the PETS are made, and a few videos on the website as well. The Gift of Mobility is a short 3 minute one.

Thanks for continuing the great Waukazoo tradition of caring for others!
